When Tragedy Strikes
Mr.Freeman was recently interviewed by Lawyer Minds. Find the full interview here.
Render C. Freeman has dedicated his legal career to holding wrongdoers responsible for their carelessness. Why should the victims of carelessness (and their families) be left holding the bag, when someone else caused their hardship?
Whether the wrongdoer is a doctor or a truck driver makes no difference; if their carelessness causes the hardship, then they must take personal responsibility for their mistakes. We all learned this lesson in kindergarten: “We have to clean up our own messes!”
But some people refuse to clean up their own messes, and when that happens, we use the American system of trial by jury to hold them accountable. In his 25+ year career, Render has learned to empower jurors, and, at the same time, truly trust them to do the right thing.
Render is not a high-volume lawyer. He takes very few cases – and only those involving serious injury or wrongful death. That enables him to fully pour himself into each case and give each client the attention that their tragedy deserves.
As a trial attorney, Render has a broad range of experience litigating and trying complex cases, including medical malpractice, nursing home abuse and malpractice, motor vehicle and truck crashes, premises liability, negligent security and negligent hiring. Render has tried cases all over the State of Georgia: from Federal District Court in Atlanta to State and Superior Courts in the remote corners of our state.
Render has developed a national reputation as a trial attorney and has been elected to the faculty of the Trial Lawyers College in Wyoming and the American Association for Justice. Through these organizations and others, Render has taught lawyers all over the country: from California to Florida to Fargo, North Dakota.
Before joining Andersen, Tate & Carr in 2005, Render practiced law with an Atlanta firm for eleven years where he rose to partnership. With that firm, Render defended proprietors and trucking companies (and their insurance carriers), including Pepsi Bottling Group, Kroger, Kmart and BiLo. His extensive experience as a defense lawyer gives Render unique strategic insights into the defense tactics employed by defendants and their insurance carriers.
Render was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He and his wife raised two boys in Johns Creek, Georgia where they lived for over twenty years. As empty nesters, Render and his wife have now moved back into the big city, but Render remains actively involved in the Johns Creek community through Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce and The Rotary Club of Johns Creek.

“Detail-oriented. Intelligent. Effective communicator. Tenacious. Thoroughly prepared. These are characteristics that one would expect from an attorney. Honest. Personable. Caring. Passionate. Ethical. These are traits that I never expected from a lawyer. Render Freeman is the total package. I have high standards, and I was very pleased with how Render conducted my personal injury case which resulted in a trial. I hope that I will never need an attorney again, but if I do, Render is definitely the professional I will call.”

“Render is an outstanding personal injury attorney. He is thorough, conscientious, and extremely effective. His strategic and proactive approach is key to his success along with his integrity and reliability. I highly recommend him.”

“Having worked for 26 years as a claims supervisor and adjuster to the insurance industry, I found myself needing a lawyer to try what was a simple under-insured auto rear ender case in Gwinnett State Court, a conservative venue.
After consulting with a long-time confidant I was referred to several trial lawyers. When I spoke to Render Freeman, I was sold on his knowledge of the law, ability to communicate, and confidence.
Render’s presentation of evidence and convincing arguments to the jury of how my injuries resulted from the accident resulted in a verdict that far exceeded my expectations after only 40 minutes of deliberation.
The trial became entertaining when Render made a motion to the court to assess a penalties to the insurer for a frivolous defense. While the jury was deliberating the judge’s instructions on that matter, Render made a $30,000 demand to the insurer and their representative to settle that charge which was accepted within minutes.
At the conclusion of the trial we greeted the jurors to thank them for their time and service. One juror stated, ‘If I need a lawyer, I am coming to see you’ while other jurors nodded their heads in approval.
Need I say more?”

“Render Freeman is an excellent attorney. I have had the pleasure of working with him since December 2005. He is extremely thorough and detailed. He is always well prepared for every step along the way and is prompt in replying to any questions I may have.”
– Dana Raissian, August 10, 2009
“Render helped us resolve a legal issue to our complete satisfaction and enabled us to have the leverage we needed to recoup money that would otherwise not have been recovered. He was knowledgeable and professional from beginning to end.”
– Sheryl Sims (formerly Garrett), July 6, 2009
“Render has consistently delivered superior services with a passion for doing the best he can with each situation, and is one of the few people in this world with whom I consider to be fair and balanced. He is a man of integrity and wisdom. Render has demonstrated an inherent understanding of the legal process and seems to have an innate ability to bring resolution in the most impossible of circumstances.”
– Michael Madryga, May 12, 2009
“Render represented me in a personal injury case and did an excellent job. He was well prepared for everything the other attorney presented and in the end we had a very successful outcome.”
– Riley Nix, May 11, 2009
“Render tried a personal injury case for my wife and I where she was the victim of an animal attack. I was extremely impressed with Renders natural skills as a litigator. Not all attorneys are good at actually litigating cases, and there are even fewer that do it well. I could take up several pages with the details, instead I will just say that we were extremely satisfied with our experience with Render and would recommend him to any of our own family and friends.”
– Glen Huff, May 11, 2009
“It is my pleasure to recommend Render Freeman as a trial lawyer. Render helped me through a very difficult situation a few years ago. He was consistently well prepared and organized. The most important quality Render exhibited was the caring manner he brought to the case. I truly felt that he was my proponent every step of the way through the process. It was very comforting to have Render in my corner!”
– Tony Adams, May 9, 2009
“I have known Render Freeman for over 30 years, and he has my highest recommendation not only as an attorney but also as a man of integrity. I have often told him that if I ever needed someone to defend my life, I would want him to be my advocate! I have recommended him to both my clients and family members and have always received great reviews from people who have needed his services. Render is someone who gives “personal injury attorney” a good name and represents the best in his profession. He has practiced this type of law both from the corporate defense side as well as the individual prosecution point of view. This type of well rounded experience is absolutely invaluable in his line of work. Anybody can give advice, but only a few people know how to give good advice when it comes to personal injury claims. If you or anyone you know has been injured as a result of someone’s negligence or wrongly accused of being responsible for another’s misfortune, do not hesitate to call Render. You will not find a better advocate.”
– Douglas Crenshaw, February 21, 2009
When my son had a serious automobile accident we wanted an attorney who was honest and trustworthy. Not one to be influenced by television ads I asked around and Render Freeman was referred to me. I was not disappointed! Mr Freeman is not only an excellent attorney but he went beyond what I expected. Each time I contacted him his response was almost immediate. Most importantly, he took a personal interest and seemed to genuinely care about us and obtaining the best outcome possible. He is both professional and compassionate which made him an excellent choice.
