Jim Joedecke has been with Andersen, Tate & Carr for over twenty-three years, where he helps lead the Litigation Group. His law practice is focused in the areas of contract and business litigation, franchising litigation, condemnation, real estate litigation, title disputes, ad valorem tax appeals, employment litigation, bankruptcy (creditor and trustee counsel) and general litigation. Mr. Joedecke’s practice has grown by serving as a trusted advisor to small businesses-helping to anticipate and navigate legal issues before litigation is commenced, and helping to obtain successful outcomes once litigation is filed. For over twenty-five years, Mr. Joedecke has provided consistent and successful legal representation for small businesses and individuals in trial and appellate litigation around the country, as well as before local government boards and agencies, and in mediation and arbitration. Mr. Joedecke’s longtime client relationships are a testament to the value he provides to his clients.
Recognizing the value of alternative forms of dispute resolution, especially as Courts work to cure backlogs caused by the Covid Pandemic, Mr. Joedecke serves as a registered mediator and arbitrator. Mr. Joedecke has participated in hundreds of successful mediations over the years and brings a wealth of experience to this role.
Mr. Joedecke has previously been named a Georgia Super Lawyer, an honor that is determined by peer vote. Mr. Joedecke also holds a distinguished rating from Martindale Hubbell National Legal Directory, a rating recognizing his competence and integrity.
In addition to his successful law practice, Mr. Joedecke also serves his community. Mr. Joedecke presently serves as a Braselton Town Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem for the Town of Braselton. Mr. Joedecke also serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia, and is passionate about the Foundation’s mission and accomplishments. He is a past President of the Rotary Club of Braselton, and currently serves as Speakers Chair. Mr. Joedecke has also served on the Governing Board for Rotary District 6910. In 2021, Mr. Joedecke co-chaired the American Values Dinner for the Northeast Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Joedecke was a long-standing member of the Board of Advisors for the American Cancer Society in Gwinnett County and twice co-chaired the Cancer Society’s Annual Fundraising Gala, along with his wife, Stephanie. Mr. Joedecke is also very proud of his service as long-time coach of the South Gwinnett High School Mock Trial Team, where he was named Outstanding Attorney Coach by the State Bar of Georgia. Mr. Joedecke still serves as an evaluator in mock trial competitions when he can. He has also represented indigent defendants before Gwinnett County’s Juvenile Courts through the Gwinnett Bar Association’s Truancy Intervention Project. Mr. Joedecke is a proud Braselton, Georgia resident where he currently resides with his wife and three children.
